Rosedale Missions

Living Out the Great Commission Together

When we talk about “missions,” we often imagine trips to far-off countries, fundraising efforts, or missionaries on the other side of the world. But at Rosedale Baptist Church and Rosedale Christian Academy, missions go beyond those traditional images. Missions are the very heartbeat of Christ’s command, and they are just as essential today as they have ever been.

In Matthew 28:18-20, Jesus gives His disciples a clear directive: to make disciples of all nations, baptizing them and teaching them to follow His commands. This mission is not just for pastors, church leaders, or those serving overseas—it is a calling for all believers, including you and your family. Whether we’re in our homes, workplaces, or local communities, we are called to reach people, share the gospel, and disciple others in their faith. Missions isn’t about where we go, but about the mindset we carry in every aspect of life.

Here at Rosedale, we believe that the Great Commission is for everyone, and if the church is still here, that means the mission is ongoing!

The Authority Behind Rosedale Missions

Jesus didn’t leave us to figure this mission out on our own. In Matthew 28:18, He says, “All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.” This command doesn’t come from just any leader; it comes from the King of Kings Himself. Jesus has full authority over the church, every nation, and the universe. Because He holds all power, we can have confidence in His mission. Our job isn’t to create a new mission or strategy—it’s to faithfully obey and trust the One who changes lives.

At Rosedale, we’re not pursuing personal ambitions or growth strategies. Rosedale Missions is about obedience to Christ’s call. The mission is alive because Jesus, the One who gave it to us, is alive and reigning!

How We Carry Out the Mission

So, how do we live out the Great Commission as a church family? Jesus gave us three clear steps: go, baptize, and teach.

  1. Go – We must be willing to go, whether that’s across the street to talk with a neighbor or across the world on a missions trip. We are excited to share that Rosedale Baptist Church offers several missions trip opportunities throughout the year, where you and your family can serve locally, nationally, and even internationally.
  2. Baptize – We are called to lead people to Christ and help them take the next step of baptism, publicly identifying with Him.
  3. Teach – Once people come to know Christ, we disciple them, helping them grow in their faith by teaching them to observe all that Jesus commanded.

This mission is a shared responsibility. As a church and school community, we give, serve, pray, and go together. Whether you are supporting our high school students as they embark on their own missions trip this year, volunteering in local ministries, or sharing Christ in your everyday conversations, there is a place for you to get involved in Rosedale Missions. This is not just for a select few—missions is for everyone.

The Mission Continues

The exciting part is that the mission is far from complete! Jesus promised in Matthew 28:20, “I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” This means the mission is ongoing until He returns. There are still people who need to hear the gospel, families in need of Christ, and nations waiting to receive the Word of God. Until the whole world knows, we all have a part to play in this ongoing mission.

The question isn’t whether the mission is alive—the mission is more alive than ever. The real question is: Are we willing to be a part of it? We encourage every family to get involved, support our students, and consider how you can participate in Rosedale Missions. Whether that means joining a trip, supporting our missions efforts financially, or simply reaching out to a neighbor with the gospel, the mission is for all of us.

We are called. Will you answer?
