At Rosedale Christian Academy’s Early Learning Center, we have the joy and privilege of loving and leading little hearts every day. These early years are such a special season—full of curiosity, wonder, and growth. Each day brings an opportunity to help children discover God’s love, develop meaningful character qualities, and build a strong foundation that supports both their learning and their faith.
Loving Little Hearts
Love is at the center of everything we do. Children need to feel safe, valued, and deeply loved so they can truly thrive. When a child experiences God’s love through the care and attention of teachers and family, they grow in confidence, courage, and joy.
In our classrooms, love looks like celebrating achievements, comforting children in challenging moments, and guiding them with patience and grace. It’s seen in a smile, a hug, or simply taking time to listen when a child wants to share their thoughts.
Faith grows naturally when children experience love. A child who notices a butterfly and says, “God made that!” or who comforts a friend with kind words is beginning to understand what it means to live out God’s love.
How families can support this at home:
- Take a few minutes each day to notice and talk about God’s creation
- Celebrate kind actions toward family or friends
- Offer encouragement and hugs to reinforce unconditional love
Leading Little Hearts
Leading little hearts means guiding children to understand who they are in God’s eyes and helping them grow in character, faith, and learning. In our classrooms, leadership begins with modeling patience, forgiveness, and kindness. We teach children how to solve problems, share with others, and celebrate the successes of their friends.
When we lead children in faith, we go beyond simply teaching Bible stories—we help them connect those lessons to everyday life.
How families can reinforce this at home:
- Pray together at bedtime or mealtime
- Read simple Bible stories and ask questions like, “What do you think God wants us to learn from this?”
- Encourage small acts of service, such as sharing a toy, comforting a sibling, or offering kind words
By leading with love and intention, children develop empathy, resilience, and a sense of responsibility that supports both their spiritual and academic growth.
Faith Foundations Support Learning
Early faith foundations nurture more than spiritual growth—they also strengthen learning. When children know they are loved and valued by God, they approach challenges with confidence and curiosity. They become more willing to try new things, ask questions, and persevere when tasks feel difficult.
Through faith, children learn patience, focus, and cooperation—skills that strengthen both their hearts and minds.
Ways families can connect faith and learning:
- Ask your child to share their favorite Bible story or song from school
- Connect everyday activities—like gardening, baking, or helping a neighbor—to God’s creation and teachings
- Celebrate growth in both character and learning
When children see how their abilities can be used for good, they develop a love for learning and a desire to live out God’s love in the world.
Partnering With Families
We believe parents and caregivers are a child’s first and most important teachers of faith. Our role at the Early Learning Center is to come alongside families, helping children connect what they learn at school with what they experience at home.
This partnership goes beyond routines and lessons—it’s about living out the Gospel in ways children can see and understand every day.
At home, you can continue guiding little hearts by:
- Sharing Bible stories
- Praying together
- Pointing out ways God is at work in your family’s daily life
Showing children how to live out God’s love through kindness, forgiveness, generosity, and gratitude teaches them that faith is not just something we talk about—it’s something we live.
